Corinne joined the OIRP team in August 2016. Prior to working for OIRP, she worked for Wichita State University as the Community Research Manager for the Public Policy and Management Center. Corinne has also served in the City Manager’s Office and Budget and Research Office with the City of Wichita. Corinne works extensively with Tableau, a business intelligence tool to provide visual analytics to assist with university-wide decision making processes. Corinne provides analytical support to academic and administrative units across campus through the creation of interactive dashboards. Corinne also assists with special projects, including analyses of campus-wide surveys and university financial analyses. (Masters in Public Administration)
Gwen joined OIRP as a Research Analyst in 2001. Previously she worked for three years as a developer/analyst in KU's Computing Services division. During the 1990s, Gwen served for five years as assistant and later associate director in the Office of Student Financial Aid, where her responsibilities included system testing and document handling. She has taught writing and English as a second language. She is responsible for conducting a variety of student analyses in OIRP. (M.A. in English)
Sandra is an Associate Director of OIRP. She first joined the office in 1989. Her responsibilities include developing and analyzing comparative metrics for KU and other AAU universities, conducting policy analyses, and coordinating analytical projects using national datasets. Sandra has worked extensively preparing data and analyses for the Office of Graduate Studies. She is active in the AAU Data Exchange and serves as the caretaker for the AAUDE Doctoral Time to Degree exchange item. (M.S.Ed. in Higher Education)
Michael joined OIRP as a Research Analyst in 2012. He began working for the University in 2007 as a technical consultant to the University Registrar. From there Michael was moved to Data Analytics & Technology where he worked as an information specialist focusing on admissions and student records research efforts. His responsibilities with OIRP include developing reports and information systems related to student recruitment and enrollment for use in the Departmental Executive Management Information System (DEMIS) as well as responding to various administrative unit ad hoc requests. Chris joined the UMI team in 2012. He previously spent 8 years working at Student Information Systems, where he helped implement and support the financial aid module. Prior to that, he worked for nearly 12 years in a variety of roles with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, including reporting. In his present role, he helps support UMI objectives to help develop information management tools, with a particular emphasis on financial aid. He also holds a Courtesy Assistant Professor appointment in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures. He also is a principal investigator for the online Linguistic Atlas of Kansas German Dialects project. (PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures)
Amanda joined OIRP in 2014, and she is a principal analyst and the program manager for the Professional Record Online (PRO) project. As principal analyst, her responsibilities include coordinating university accreditation efforts and program review materials, the university’s use of the Campus Labs platform, and conducting research across a spectrum of areas in support of university decision making. Amanda has worked for ten years in higher education in areas related to institutional research, accreditation, and assessment (Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration).
Virginia is the Statistical and Information Officer, and has been with the office since 1974. Virginia's primary responsibility is to develop, analyze, and maintain federal surveys and major college guides, and disseminate university data and information. She coordinates the production of the University of Kansas Profiles, the Common Data Set, and she also responds to approximately forty comprehensive surveys per year. (B.S.E. in Secondary Education)
Marcia joined the OIRP team in July of 2017. Prior to that she worked for 13 years in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at KU where she was responsible for data analysis, course scheduling management, and space management. From 1998 to 2004, Marcia worked at the KU Medical Center as a research analyst for the office of Analysis and Planning. Currently, Marcia’s primary responsibilities include analysis of faculty and staff data for official and ad-hoc reporting. Before becoming a research analyst, Marcia worked as a field archaeologist, a lab assistant in an immunology lab, and selling and sewing high end designer fabrics. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crafting, running, and is a Girl Scout troop leader. (MA in Anthropology).
Trina joined OIRP in 2011 as a research analyst. Her responsibilities include the utilization of data mining techniques to develop and analyze predictive models that inform KU's recruitment and retention practices. She has 12 years of professional experience in the Division of Student Success at KU (working with first-year college students in transition) and most recently she served as a graduate research assistant at Iowa State University (ISU). Trina has extensive experience in quantitative research methods and multivariate analyses. (Ph.D. in Higher Education)
Barbara is a Research Analyst and has been with the office since 2005. Responsibilities include conducting research and preparing summaries of reports in support of university administration as well as preparing data and student analyses. She is also involved with the development and production of reports, designs, implements, and analyzes surveys related to university academic programs and operations. (M.S.Ed. in Higher Education)
Prasanna joined OIRP as a Research Analyst in 2014. Her responsibilities include Database Management, and implementing and enhancing Business Intelligence tools for Financial and HR data. Before joining OIRP, she worked at Payless as a Financial Analyst. During her MBA, she also worked as a Graduate Assistant in OIRP enhancing the DEMIS portal. She has experience as a Finance Consultant migrating financial data from legacy systems to Oracle Financials. (Masters in Business Administration and Bachelors in Computer Science)
Deb joined the office in 1972 and has been Director of OIRP since 1975. She has developed and implemented costing studies; conducted financial and salary studies; coordinated, developed, implemented, and analyzed surveys; prepared policy and position papers; built planning models; participated in a variety of data exchanges, designed institutional and departmental data profiles; and consulted with Board of Regents staff regarding studies on state financing, faculty activities, graduate student activities, program review, mission review, among others. She also has developed and presented workshops on TQM and consults on peer selection, comparative cost studies, and TQM. (Masters in Business Administration)
JoAnn is a Senior Principal Analyst and has been with the office since 1987. Her responsibilities include the design and execution of computer-based analyses to meet information needs for the University, Board of Regents, State and Federal government, and various other entities as requested. The main focus of her work is on undergraduate enrollment management issues. She provides analyses, information, and research in the areas of retention and graduation of first-time freshmen and new transfer students; undergraduate student application and admissions; degree completions; various grant proposals or grant funded projects; and numerous ad-hoc requests.
